Bob's Base Camp

Every wilderness expert needs a base to work from. Here's mine.
It's about half way between Ottawa and Toronto,
north of Belleville and smack in the middle of the bush.
The closest neighbor is one mile away.
Life is grand isn't it?!

Here's a shot of my office at base camp. The roof is covered with a clear plastic so there's always great light during the day and the view at night is spectacular. This room is not insulated so the wood stove operates full-tilt from November to April. I use a solar panel to charge my lap top and cell phone - and it's me who does the 'running' for the water.

This is the office again, just looking the other way. The cabinet to the left is my pantry. The table to the right is the kitchen. The door in the center leads into the Voyageur room where I keep my expedition equipment and personal items. The canoes are stored outside behind the cabin.
The two rooms total about 240 square feet, not very big, but very cool.

This picture was taken in the summer of 2011. On the right is the wood shed. The centre part is the outside view of the rooms described above. To the left is the outdoor patio which is covered with the same 'see through' material as the main cabin. To the very far left is my sauna/bath-house. You can also see a few of my canoes on the left.

Don't think this requires too much explanation.
Nicest out-house this side of Iqaluit!
Well ventilated!
Clean!
Very comfortable!
Okay, can be a tad cool during some seasons.
Not much reading done here I'll tell ya.
